Mineral Point Feed Mill

Mineral Point Feed Mill Expansion

We are proud to offer a range of services designed to make feed delivery as convenient and efficient as possible for producers. Two standout options are our Bag Route Delivery and the Mini Bulk System, each tailored to meet your specific needs and ensure timely delivery of our feed products.

Bag Route DeliveryWe’re excited to announce that construction is now complete on the Mineral Point feed mill expansion, marking a major milestone for Premier Cooperative and the communities we serve. This project brings significant upgrades to our manufacturing speed, capacity, and efficiency, ensuring we’re ready to meet your needs today and well into the future.

The expansion has dramatically increased our production speed for both bulk and bagged feeds. By segregating texturized and specialty manufacturing, we’ve unlocked the ability to increase bulk tonnage in our existing structure, while the new addition has doubled the speed at which we can manufacture texturized calf feeds. This means more product, delivered faster, with the same commitment to quality you expect from Premier Cooperative.

One of the most exciting improvements is our new robotic bagging line, which is a game-changer for our operations. Previously, we could bag 180 bags of calf feed per hour. Now, we can produce up to 480 bags per hour. This leap in efficiency allows us to keep up with growing demand and get product to our customers more quickly than ever before.

We’ve also expanded our storage and ingredient handling capabilities. The facility now features 12 new loadout bins for our main mixer and 6 more dedicated to high-molasses feeds for small packs and totes. High-molasses calf feed now benefits from ingredient cleaning right before mixing, and our vertical flow system with air sweeps in the loadout bins keeps feed moving smoothly. Additional ingredient storage ensures we always have ample supply on hand, supporting uninterrupted manufacturing and continued growth on our existing feed lines.

With construction complete, we’re putting the finishing touches on the facility and preparing to remodel our feed control room, the heart of our automation system. These improvements will further enhance our team’s ability to deliver safe, consistent, and high-quality feed.

This expansion wouldn’t be possible without the trust and partnership of our members and customers. We’re proud to invest in the future of local agriculture and look forward to serving you with even greater speed, reliability, and innovation. If you have questions about the new capabilities or want to learn more about the expansion, please reach out to your local nutritionist.

I hope you were able to enjoy Thanksgiving with family and friends. And I hope you’ve recovered from your food coma. For the 10 of you (including my mom) who read my newsletter, you’ve seen how I’ve been promoting propane gas appliances and the available rebates. A couple of years ago, I was invited to attend a webinar and the folks on the webinar were claiming that if you’re seeing electrical power outages now, it may be multiplied by up to 100 times in the future if there is no more additional electrical generation. Of course that was a worst-case scenario, but it got me thinking.

With harvest wrapped up across the countryside, it’s a natural time to reflect on the year and the results of all the hard work put into this season’s crops. From there, we start thinking about what else can be done to keep that success going.

We have recently wrapped up our latest fiscal year audit, and I am happy to report that your cooperative experienced another solid year in 2025. A notable achievement includes continued year-over-year growth from our feed division. Our energy team also maintained their steady performance and improved results over 2024. While grain farming was handed a more challenging year in 2025 with market volatility, high input costs, and trade uncertainty, the agronomy division pulled back from some of the recent highs but was able to grow volumes and services for their members. Each division ended the year with strong sales and positive earnings. Premier will report fiscal 2025 net savings of just over $15 million and total revenues at $285 million.
