July 2025

I hope everyone had the chance to enjoy the Independence Day holiday with family and friends. Thanks to all of you who called in your orders early and helped minimize the added pressure that the short work week brings. I’d also like to thank all of you who returned your propane contracts by the due date. With a short window of when contracts are mailed to when they are due back, we really appreciate your patience and support. If reading this reminded you that your contract is still sitting on the kitchen table, just pick up the phone and call the energy office nearest to you. Our friendly staff will be glad to take care of you. On behalf of our energy team and everyone at your cooperative, thank you for choosing us to serve your propane needs again this year.

If you are not currently using Premier as your propane supplier, please give us a call and allow us the opportunity to earn your business. While propane may be a commodity and available from a number of suppliers during the summer, not all propane companies are the same. Premier’s commitment to safety and continuous investment back into the business are just a couple factors that set us apart from the competition. Investments that lead the way with over 800,000 gallons of bulk storage, a modern fleet of delivery units which are third party tested annually for meter accuracy and system functionality, and remote tank monitoring coupled with dispatched routing systems are just a few of the benefits that differentiate us from other suppliers. In addition, our team of safety certified technicians, delivery personnel, and customer service representatives are all committed to ensuring your home is safe and warm throughout the winter months. Our team would love the chance to show you how we are the Premier propane company for your needs.

The month of July will be busy with agronomy plot and educational events. The agronomy plots offer an excellent opportunity for our staff to receive hands-on training with products and services that will have the greatest impact on conditions that are happening in the field today. From the benefits that mid-season nitrogen applications can provide to calculating the return on investment of fungicide applications, your agronomists have been armed with the latest tools and techniques to help you maximize your yields this fall. Please don’t hesitate to contact one of the excellent Premier agronomists for more information or to schedule a private tour of an Answer Plot near you.

As we enter the last few months of our fiscal year, I’d like to thank all of you who have kept your charge account at the cooperative within our credit terms. I can’t stress enough how important it is to your company that all the previous month’s charges are paid in full by the end of the month after they are purchased. It’s the cash flow we depend on to pay our suppliers, make payroll, and reinvest in your cooperative. I understand that it takes a lot of work to keep your account current, and it is very much appreciated. Thank you!

Spring has officially sprung. Those April showers didn’t just bring May flowers. It brought in calls to the energy division that flooding on some of our customer’s property tipped over their propane tanks. The first thing propane tanks do when the water gets high enough for them to float is roll over. This rollover can allow liquid to reach the vapor valve. The last thing you want coming through a propane line and traveling to your house is propane liquid. It can cause a pressure surge, which over-pressurizes the piping, regulators and appliance valves. This can cause leaks and a potentially very dangerous situation.
